The GED test is administered throughout the year by the South Carolina State Department of Education. In Horry County, the GED test is administered in the Conway & Myrtle Beach locations weekly, excluding holidays/ breaks.

Why is getting your GED important?
Obtaining your GED offers better chances of furthering your education. If you are interested in a college degree, getting your GED allows you better chances of being accepted into a program, which in turn has the potential to lead to greater financial earnings. GED graduates, on average, earn $2,040 more a year than high school dropouts. GED graduates who attend community colleges, on average, perform as well academically as high school graduates. According to the GED Testing Service, 98 percent of all U.S. colleges and universities accept applicants with a GED diploma or certificate in lieu of a traditional high school diploma.
